Melacare cream 2% is a unique solution to heal redness, itchiness, and inflammation arising from skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis. Initially, Melacare was made chiefly to cure melasma, another skin discoloring state. This formula contains three active ingredients, including Tretinoin, Hydroquinone, and Mometasone.

Tretinoin is a medication helpful in treating acne and lowering the effect of wrinkles, particularly those caused from UV contact. Hydroquinone is the active agent accountable for skin whitening and bleaching actions; its sole function is to slow down the process of skin discoloration and evade dark spots in the suntan. Lastly, Mometasone (a corticosteroid) is an anti-inflammatory component of the cream that focuses on reducing swelling on the skin. It is used to treat the pruritic and inflammatory signs of corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions.

How to Apply Melacare Cream?

Melacare cream 2% typically is massaged onto the skin by hand but apply it only one time in a day. When applying, the first layer must be very thin and massaged in very gently. This cream is usually applied to the skin on the face. It is suggested to use the cream at least half an hour before going to bed. First you must use a gentle cleanser or soap to wash your face, dry it and then use a minute amount of Melacare and make it into a thin layer. Then, let it to marinate inside the skin during the night, and wash off the chemicals in the morning.

What Are the Side Effects of Melacare Cream?

There are a number of Melacare cream 2% side effects, including thinning of skin, blisters in hair skin cells, irritation, itching of the skin and increased redness. Chronic application may result in a condition known as cutaneous ochronosis (bluish black discoloration of joint cells), from the hydroquinone.

Contraindications:

Avoid application of Melacare cream 2% cream in following conditions:

  • Have any allergies.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Taking any other form of medication, herbal products or supplements.
  • Have special current medical condition.
     

Precautions:

  • It is suggested to avoid the application of Melacare cream 2% on itchy, dry, or sunburnt skin, in addition to avoiding getting the medical formulation in the nose and eyes.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun after using this cream. As it contains an ingredient, Hydroquinone which has a negative reaction to UV rays of the sun that can bring about darkening of the skin through photo-allergic reactions. Therefore, if you are planning on taking a walk outdoors, then please apply sunscreen on top of Melacare (SPF 15 or higher every 2 hours cautiously).
  • Stop the use of Melacare cream if you get any allergic reaction after using it for example, hives, skin rashes, trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling, or pain in the chest. And inform your doctor right away if you get any of these and before these persist or subside.
  • In addition to this, Melacare shows its best results if you have a judicious diet of vegetables, fruits, and imbibe ample of water. This not only makes for an improved skin, but also helps Melacare process and function as intended.
